This is more than just talk therapy.
In my practice I use a combination of treatment approaches including, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Narrative Therapy. The initial session(s) typically consist of a full mental health/addiction assessment to identify the issues that are impacting your mental health. From the assessment a treatment plan is developed which is tailored to your specific needs. Effective therapy consists of more than just talking. Goal setting, changes to lifestyle, behaviors and perspectives are all crucial for personal development. To support my client’s development, I provide weekly homework/assignments along with detailed session reflection emails. Additionally, each session includes a pre-session and post-session assessment to guarantee the client’s needs are being met and there is progress being made.
Rapport is key.
To connect with my clients I take an approach that is warm, empathetic, client-centered and culturally sensitive. My practice is non-discriminatory and open to all people, inclusive of every race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, spirituality and disability.
